Alvera Inez Lowe, lifelong resident of Grand Junction, died on August 4, 2017. She was 89. Born on May 3, 1928 to Walter and Inez Ladage, Alvera graduated from Fruitvale High School in 1946. In December, 1946 she married Gordon Lowe, also a graduate of Fruitvale. Gordon is deceased. Their 70th anniversary would have been last Christmas Eve, and we believe they are in each other's arms once again. Alvera is survived by two children, Cindy (Pat) McGarry and Mike (Valerie) Lowe; three grandchildren, Michelle, Stephen, and Kyle; and two step-grandchildren, Joy and Garrett. Great-grandchildren...

Alvera Inez Lowe, lifelong resident of Grand Junction, died on August 4, 2017. She was 89. Born on May 3, 1928 to Walter and Inez Ladage, Alvera graduated from Fruitvale High School in 1946. In December, 1946 she married Gordon Lowe, also a graduate of Fruitvale. Gordon is deceased. Their 70th anniversary would have been last Christmas Eve, and we believe they are in each other's arms once again. Alvera is survived by two children, Cindy (Pat) McGarry and Mike (Valerie) Lowe; three grandchildren, Michelle, Stephen, and Kyle; and two step-grandchildren, Joy and Garrett. Great-grandchildren are Bradan, Caleb and Shelby, with another "on the way". She is also survived by her sister, Alice Peterson; brother Alfred (Elsie) Ladage; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, sister Elnora, and brother Raymond are deceased. Alvera was a member of First Congregational Church in Grand Junction and was active in their bell choir for many years. She was also a member of Community Concerts of the Grand Valley and was honored in 2016 for thirty years of service to that organization. Alvera was retired from Mountain Bell Telephone Company and was a proud member of Telephone Pioneers of America. Funeral services will be held at First Congregational Church, 1425 N. 5th St. Grand Junction, at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 15th. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens 2970 North Avenue. Memorial contributions can be made to HopeWest Hospice or First Congregational Church. The family would like to thank St. Mary's Hospital, Columbine Caregivers and HopeWest Hospice for the care given to Alvera in her final days. Thanks, Mom, we love you.
